Watergate X – The Movie

Countless clubs shape the cityscape of the German capital. Watergate is one of those, but well known beyond the borders of Berlin. In 2002, the operators Steffen Hack and Ulrich Wombacher opened the premises on the Oberbaumbrücke, which extend over two floors. The interior design is functional, the sound system sophisticated and the artist-booking high-class. Legendary is not only the LED lighting system of the main floor, but also the ominous curtain that adorns the shiny facade of the Waterfloor, to be able to darken the dance floor at dawn.

The ‘Watergate’ brand has been expanded in recent years by a record label and an artist agency, branded showcases and open airs take place worldwide. For the ten-year anniversary at that time, the Berlin Club published an impressive documentation of their previous existence. The documentary by Stathis Klotsikas captures mainly voices of protagonists. Residents, guest DJs and the stars of the scene tell of their special and intense moments at Watergate. Whether Sven Väth, Solomun or Dixon – everyone has at least one entertaining story to tell about the Watergate.
