Gaskessel Bern

The Gaskessel (eng. gas boiler) in Bern is one of the oldest youth culture centers in Europe. Since the early 1970s, regular concerts, theatrical performances, discos, exhibitions, discussions, film nights and many other socio-cultural events have taken place there.

The entire facility is located in the former gas reservoirs of the city of Bern, right next to the Aare River, and is divided into two spherical hemispheres. Due to the changing needs of visitors, structural changes are constantly being made to the idiosyncratic architecture.
